W. Laurence Sweeney Fisheries Museum Yarmouth Nova Scotia
The W. Laurence Sweeney Fisheries Museum was created by his son and daughters to tell the story of the men and women of Laurence Sweeney Fisheries Limited, of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

You can see almost every kind of fire engine ever used in Nova Scotia in this Museum, from an 1819 Hopwood and Tilley hand-drawn hand pumper to an 1863 Amoskeag steam fire engine, to a 1933 motor-driven Chev pumper. Smaller items on display include photos of famous fires, rubber and leather water buckets, and antique toy fire engines.
Argyle Township Courthouse & Archives

Smallest Drawbridge
The community of Sandford is about a 15-minute drive from the town of Yarmouth. The drawbridge was built so that the fisherman and visitors can cross from one side of the Sandford wharf system to the other without having to travel out to the road and around. http://obpl.com/sandford-db.html
The Cape Forchu Lighthouse
Cape Forchu, high, rocky, well treed and almost an island itself, has a decidedly different appearance from the surrounding coast. The light station is owned by the Municipality of Yarmouth County and run by the Friends of the Yarmouth Light Society. Located near the extreme southwest portion of Nova Scotia, Cape Forchu is a forked tongue of land, discovered in the 17th century by Samuel de Champlain, at the west entrance point into the busy Yarmouth Harbour.

Yarmouth Museum and Archive
This museum has a large collection of ship paintings and artifacts from the shipping and fishing history of this area. Yarmouth was once an active seaport with tall ships coming and going. Speaking of ships and fishing, one of the artifacts at the Museum is the large light from the first lighthouse at Cape Forchu.
